Amanda McCarthy

Amanda is a Workface Planning Manager for Fluor and has been with them for 4 1/2 years; all  have been on the Sturgeon Refinery project. What Amanda likes about her job is being able to relieve the frustration of craft – mainly due to missing material – and interfacing with the craft.  She likes working on the Sturgeon Refinery project because she feels NWR being a newer company is more open to innovative ideas not to mention she’s home every night.  The biggest influence in Amanda’s career has been Brad Lewis because he has been mentoring Amanda since she was a 1st year apprentice.  Amanda’s work philosophy is to take pride in your work and her advice for the next generation of O&G construction workers is to take the initiative to learn from the experienced workers before they are gone.

Amanda grew up in Colliers, Newfoundland and says her greatest accomplishment is her son who makes her so proud.
